No matter how cafeful you are, a deeply embedded hook will often cause bleeding that will undoubtedly kill the fish. Here's a tip that might just save the fish - keep a soft drink on board that contains citric acid (Mountain Dew, Sprite, Mellow Yellow, 7UP, etc...). Pour the drink on the affected area.
