No matter how cafeful you are, a deeply embedded hook will often cause bleeding that will undoubtedly kill the fish. Here's a tip that might just save the fish - keep a soft drink on board that contains citric acid (Mountain Dew, Sprite, Mellow Yellow, 7UP, etc...). Pour the drink on the affected area. The acid will shrink the capillaries, reducing, and possibly eliminating the hemorrhage. |
